Egyptian Trade Attaché in Kuwait Medhat Adel denied media reports that some foreign quarters have banned importing Egypt's agricultural products for violating safety standards.
Reports that the US Food and Drug Administration and European bodies have put restrictions on Egyptian agricultural imports are mere rumors, he told the Middle East News Agency (MENA), stressing that Egyptian agricultural products are totally safe. However, there are some individual cases in which Egyptian exporters have sent agricultural shipments that do not meet food hygienic standards in the US, forcing authorities there to seize the shipments to make sure that they are free of diseases, he added. |
