 Minister of International Cooperation Sahar Nasr signed an agreement on with Resident Representative of the African Development Bank (AFDB) in Cairo Leila Mokaddem on a grant for actuarial study to implement a national system for health and social insurance.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Health Ahmed Emad el Din. The grant, worth dlrs 252,000, comes within the framework of the Egyptian government plan to implement a new comprehensive health and social insurance system as a necessary step to attain comprehensive health coverage for all categories of people, particularly the needy, Nasr said. Most importantly of what has been agreed upon, the minister noted, is that the agreement in question will take effect once signed in order to complete the study in less than six months. Meanwhile, Nasr said the International Cooperation Ministry has provided a lot of funds for the health sector including grants, exchanging expertise, technical support and providing the sector with modern medical devices. Minister of Health Ahmed Emad el Din, for his part, praised the efforts exerted by the Ministry of International Cooperation in supporting and developing health centers in Upper Egypt. |
