 Minister of Trade and Industry Tareq Qabil had telephone calls with a number of Russian officials including Russian Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov.
The contacts tackled the latest developments regarding a Russian decision to impose temporary restrictions on some Egyptian agricultural exports. Qabil asserted that Egypt is keen on exporting products to the Russian market. He said Egypt is committed to applying all quality criteria. The Egyptian official said the talks so far are positive. A delegation from the Trade and Industry Ministry, the Agricultural Quarantine and the Agricultural Export Council will head for the Russian capital Moscow on Saturday to discuss the matter with the Russian parties concerned to lift the restrictions and resume exporting agricultural crops. |
