Egypt-Greece Business Council (EBA) is scheduled to convene on October, chairman of the council's Egyptian Side Hani Berzi revealed.
In statements, Berzi said that the Greek side will be invite for a joint meeting of the council on the sidelines of the Egyptian-Greek-Cypriot trilateral summit, slated for October 11 and 12 under Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras. The meeting will deal with ways of cooperation with the Greek side with regard to several investment opportunities, he added. The establishment of a rapid maritime line linking the Egyptian ports of Alexandria and Suez with Greek ports will be proposed during the meeting to facilitate the transfer of highly perishable Egyptian products, especially the agricultural products, Berzi said. A memorandum of understanding signed by Egypt and Greece during President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's recent visit to Athens for the establishment of a shipping line between the ports of Damietta and Alexandroupoli will be also be followed up, he added. Berzi said the two sides will discuss cooperation in the fields of tourism that will include small and medium enterprises, along with the fields of solar, wind and new and renewable energies. He added that the Egyptian Ministry of Waqfs will prepare a detailed report on the results of a visit recently paid by an Egyptian delegation to Greece with regard to the Egyptian endowments' investments in the European country. |
