 President Abdel Fattah El Sisi urged establishing more facilities for small and medium-sized industries to boost the industrial sector and increase production in Egypt.
During a meeting with Trade and Industry Minister Tareq Qabil, the president said this move will contribute to creating more job opportunities and supporting the Egyptian economy. Qabil talked about his ministry's plan to establish and increase the number of industrial cities in Egypt, especially in southern El Raswa area in Port Said, Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef said. He also spoke of a proposed plan to establish 500 industrial facilities for small and medium-sized industries in the coming period. Qabil presented a report on work progress in Cairo's El Robeiki area, specialized in leather industries, and briefed the president on efforts exerted to lift a ban on exports of Egyptian agricultural products and crops to the Russian market. Sisi called for a speedy transfer of tanneries to El Robeiki area to promote the leather industry in Egypt, the spokesman added. The president ordered stepping up efforts to attract more investments and increase exports in the coming period, Youssef concluded. |
