 President Abdel Fattah El Sisi underlined the importance of speeding up the work progress in development projects and social care programs, particularly in Upper Egypt and Sinai.
Sisi also called for making the best use of funds provided by international institutions in projects covering all sectors, presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said. These remarks were made on the sidelines of Sisi's meeting with Minister of International Cooperation Sahar Nasr. Nasr briefed the president on the contribution made by the ministry to implement the government's reform program via intensifying contacts with international financing institutions to provide Egypt with the programs needed to expand social care networks and help the needy. The minister reviewed with Sisi ongoing contacts with the World Bank, the African Development Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Youssef said. Nasr also posted Sisi on the contacts underway with a number of donor countries and international financing institutions in order to fund the youth's small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), he added. The minister noted that the officials of the international financing institutions hailed the measures recently adopted by the Egyptian government as well as the development projects it was carrying out, Youssef indicated. According to Nasr, they consider these measures and projects a reflection of the Egyptian government's commitment to the economic reform program, he said. The minister also told Sisi about the latest achievements made with regard to financing the national projects, particularly the social ones that contribute to improving living conditions and providing job opportunities. |
