His Excellency Mohammed Thani Murshid Al-Rumaithi, Chairman of the Federation of the UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, received His Excellency Bahodour Sharifi, Ambassador of Tajikistan to the UAE, at the Chamber’s Tower in Abu Dhabi and discussed with him economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, Al-Rumaithi said that both Abu Dhabi and Tajikistan possess great capabilities and extensive experiences to execute huge projects in a number of sectors and that Emirati companies have a great record of achievements and international network which enables them to contribute to executing infrastructure and development projects in Tajikistan. He pointed out that the leaderships of both countries are aware to provide all success elements to facilitate the success of joint cooperation in order to provide a proper environment for investors to benefit from the available investment opportunities and increase fruitful and strong bilateral cooperation. Al-Rumaithi noted that figures of trade exchange between the two sides are humble and do not reflect their economic capabilities, emphasizing that this humble figures represent great opportunities for companies of the private sector to increase their investments and presence in the markets of Tajikistan. The Chairman pointed to the desire of many Emirati companies to invest in Tajikistan and to have knowledge about the rules and regulations that govern foreign investments in Tajikistan. He added that the clarity of these rules and regulations will contribute to attracting Emirati investments and businesses to Tajikistan and increase their contribution to executing development projects in Tajikistan. For his part, His Excellency Bahodour Sharifi invited Emirati investors and businessmen to increase their investments in Tajikistan and to benefit from the great opportunities in his country, especially in infrastructure and development projects. He extended an invitation to the Chairman and Board Members of the Abu Dhabi Chamber to visit Tajikistan and take a closer look at the investment climate and the available investment opportunities in the infrastructure sector and food and agricultural sectors. His Excellency Mohammed Helal Al-Muhairi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, and Mr. Abdullah Ghurair Al-Qubaisi, Deputy Director General, attended the meeting. |
