 Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi is set to fly to the United Arab Emirates for a two-day visit, according to a statement from the presidency.
Presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said that El-Sisi's visit comes in the framework of continued discussions and coordination between the two countries. The Egyptian president is also set to participate in celebrations of the UAE’s National Day, which falls. Youssef added that El-Sisi’s discussions with Emirati leaders will focus on ways of boosting special bilateral ties that would strengthen the ongoing strategic cooperation between the two countries to face regional challenges. Earlier in November, El-Sisi received Abu-Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan. In statements Bin Zayed stressed his country’s unshakeable support for Egypt in light of the special relations that bind the two countries. The UAE, a key ally of Egypt, has propped up Cairo economically since the 2013 ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi. |
