President Abdel Fattah El Sisi ordered stepping up efforts to carry out a national food project, expand the establishment of livestock farms and greenhouses across Egypt and establish units for agricultural and food industrialization.
Sisi made the directives during his meeting with Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, presidential assistant for national and strategic projects Ibrahim Mahlab, Agriculture Minister Essam Fayed, head of the Administrative Control Authority Mohamed Erfan and Chairman of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Kamel el Wazir.. The meeting reviewed the executive steps that should be taken to carry out the national food project, which includes breeding one million cattle and has a capacity of 200,000 cattle in the first stage, with the aim of contributing to meeting people’s needs of fresh meat and milk at reasonable prices and with a high quality, presidential spokesman Alaa Yousef said.. The meeting tackled the preliminary studies of the project which were conducted by the Agriculture Ministry, the Armed Forces Engineering Authority and the Administrative Control Authority, the spokesman added.. The get-together also took up the ongoing coordination between all state bodies concerned in order to reach the best ways to carry out the project according to the highest standards and with the lowest cost. . President Sisi stressed the necessity of accelerating steps of implementing a project of animal production and providing the required resources. |
