 International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr discussed with a delegation of the European Commission (EC) increasing funds for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The delegation groups Deputy Secretary-General for Economic and Global Issues at the European External Action Service (EEAS) Christian Leffler, Deputy Director-General in the department for Migration and Home Affairs (DG HOME) Simon Mordue, Deputy Director-General of the European Commission's Directorate General for Neighborhood and Enlargement Maciej Popowski and Acting Head of EU Delegation Reinhold Brender. During the meeting, Nasr lauded the role of the European Union to back the socio-economic reform process carried out by the Egyptian government. The two sides also discussed social stability, increasing funds for SMEs, governance, institutional reform and the economic reform process in Egypt. They also discussed means of fighting illegal immigration and human trafficking, stressing the need to find solutions to the main causes of this phenomenon. |
