The Abu Dhabi Commercial Conciliation and Arbitration Centre (ADCCAC), an initiative by the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is organizing a program to prepare and habilitate arbitrators in cooperation with the GCC Commercial Arbitration Center in Abu Dhabi.
The program contains six linked stages, which allow participants upon completion to obtain the necessary certificates to be registered as approved arbitrators in the list of the GCC Commercial Arbitration Center. The preparatory stage of the program commenced last week in the City of Abu Dhabi. The program aims at habilitating technical and legal cadres in the Arab world to work in the field of arbitration and to elevate the level of arbitration for those who are interested in the area of arbitration. The six stages of the program will focus on arbitration and its legal nature. The first stage of the six-stage program will go under the title “Arbitration Agreements and Drafting Controls” and will aim at enabling participants to draft an arbitration agreement after reviewing all that is related to the approaches of drafting an arbitration agreement theoretically and practically. In the second stage, participants will learn the procedures of arbitration and how to manage an arbitrational claim; whereas the third stage will focus on the arbitration award, how it was approached and the principles of its drafting. The fourth stage will include the process of executing and annulling an arbitration award and the fifth stage will focus on show trial. Participants will be provided with a practical virtual arbitration case and an arbitration panel will be form from the participants to look into the facts of this virtual case . Dr. Magdi Ibrahim Qasem, Executive Director of the ADCCAC, will supervise the entire program. |
