 The Egyptian-Lebanese Business Forum has agreed on mechanisms that aim at resolving problems and increasing trade exchange between the two countries, head of the Egyptian Lebanese Businessmen Friendship Association (ELBA) Fathallah Fawzy said.
In statements after concluding the forum's third session in Beirut, Fawzy added that outstanding issues in trade and commerce would be submitted to the Joint Higher Committee's meetings, slated for March 23 in Cairo, to be held for the first time in seven years under the two countries' prime ministers. The two sides agreed to boost Arab cooperation, improve the trade balance, and fill the gap between imports and exports, Fawzy said. As many as 45 Egyptian companies took part in the forum, that also invited Lebanese businessmen to pump investments to Egyptian projects, including the Suez Canal Economic Zone and the new administrative capital. The forum also affirmed the need of Egyptian and Lebanese companies to be ready to take part in Syria's reconstruction process. Egypt's Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr along with Lebanese Minister of Economy and Trade Raed Khoury took part in the forum. |
