Fahad Obaid Al Taffaq, Director of Economic and Trade Affairs at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met with a high-level Argentine delegation comprising Juan Schiaretti, Governor of Cordoba province; Gustavo Bordet, Governor of Entre Rios, and Carlos Fascendini, Deputy Governor of Santa Fe.
The Argentine officials are on their first official visit to the UAE to participate in Gulfood 2017, an annual food and hospitality event. They will also hold meetings with officials from various organisations in the UAE. During the meeting, also attended by Fernando Ramon Martinis, Argentine ambassador to the UAE, the parties discussed bilateral relations and issues of common interest for the two countries. Al Taffaq stressed that the UAE is keen to enhance bilateral relations with Argentina. He noted that the Argentine officials’ visit to the UAE further reflects that the leaderships of both countries are keen to boost ties. The Argentine officials stressed their desire to attract Emirati investments to the agricultural and logistics sectors in particular. Other topics discussed at the meeting included the importance of and exchanging official and business visits in bolstering bilateral relations, strengthening co-operation and exchanging expertise in all spheres . The meeting took place at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. |
