Kuwaiti Ambassador to Italy Sheikh Ali Khaled Al-Jaber Al-Sabah hailed Italy's role in boosting the global economy.
The ambassador's statement was made to KUNA, on the sidelines the tenth annual meeting of Italy's central bank (Bankitalia). The Ambassador attended the event on an invitation from Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs Angelino Alfano. Sheikh Ali noted that 2017 was an important year for Italy, as the country will chair the Group of Seven (G7) for industrial countries. The country is also set to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the signing of the Treaties of Rome on March 25, that paved the way to the unity of Europe, he added. Meanwhile, in his speech at the event, Alfano said that Europe must unite in facing economic difficulties. He praised the role of the Bankitalia and the European Central Bank in supporting and protecting the continent's economy against any dangers. He added that it is Italy's priority to protect international trade as the main element of economic growth. |
