Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Tarek el-Molla met with CEO of Apache Corporation John Christmann and his accompanying delegation for talks on boosting the company's investments in Egypt.
The meeting tackled developing and expanding exploration activities in Egypt, the conditions of current projects along with the company’s investment plans in the coming years, especially in the Western Desert, which attracted the attention of the international oil companies after recent explorations. The recent explorations in the Western Desert have a great potential of increasing the oil and gas reserves in Egypt. Christmann said Apache Corporation has achieved a great success in oil and gas explorations since the start of its operations in Egypt in 1996, with investments worth more than 17 billion dollars. |
