Ayman Ayad, the Program Manager for Water and Utilities in the European Union Delegation Embassy in Cairo, asserted that Egypt is one of the best counties regarding water efficiency in Africa and the Middle East.
In statements on the sidelines of a three-day workshop in Ain Sokhna city, Ayad added that drinking water in Egypt is totally safe. The workshop is organized by the EU in cooperation with the Egyptian Water and Waste Water Holding Company and UNESCO. It focuses on social networks’ role in rationalization of water consumption. Ayad also said that the EU and Irrigation Ministry are cooperating in implementing a new project at a cost of 4.5 million euros that aims to train Egyptian cadres. |
