 President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said that 180,000 housing units would be completed by June 30, 2018 to accommodate the residents of dangerous slums.
The units will completely eliminate the problem of slums, Sisi told The president pledged to solve the problems of Upper Egypt, in cooperation with the Long Live Egypt (Tahya Masr) Fund and the local NGOs, calling on the national banks and businessmen to share responsibility for supporting the people in need. He added that sewage projects covered 12 percent of Upper Egypt when he took office, now they cover 25 percent, and are planned to cover 40 percent by the end of June 2018. He called for exerting more efforts to cope with the overpopulation; a challenge that is not less than the threat of terrorism, the president said. |
