Trades at Boursa Kuwait in the past week sessions were distinguished with focus on low-value chips, speculations and profit bagging.
Purchase operations targeted chips valued less than 50 fils. Individual traders abstained from involvement in transactions due to the enlisted companies' abstention from revealing the boards meetings' dates to discuss financial data for the year Q1. This approach affected the declining cash value. Most of the enlisted banks honored the financial revelation timetable. Meanwhile, some companies deliberately delayed the disclosure, waiting until the last moments ahead of the expiry of the legal grace period, falling in the Middle of May. As to session, the three main indices dropped, amid selective operations targeting cheap and blue chips. The benchmark was down by 45.94 points to settle at 6,752.79 points. The weighted index dropped 3.31 points to stand at 402.41 points, whereas the KSX 15 index shed 9.34 points to read 906.38. Value of shares closed at KD 18,820,860.93 with the share turnover amounting to 146,769,342, done in 4,203 deals. (USD=KD 0.304). |
