Prime Minister Sherif Ismail said the extent of progress that is being achieved on the ground proves that the country is on the right track and that we are determined to make up what we missed in all domains so that beloved Egypt would assume the position it deserves among world States.
Ismail stressed - in his speech during the opening ceremony of several development projects in Qena - that the government is determined to carry on with development projects, especially in Upper Egypt, despite challenges. Food security is among the main challenges the country is facing at the time being, the Premier said. He noted that national projects do not only aim at achieving stability and economic progress but also aim at achieving social security, strengthening social protection network and providing jobs to youths to fight unemployment and improve living conditions. Among the development projects that will be inaugurated is a silo for grains storage, Ismail said. This will bring to 25 the number of the hi-tech silos that were lately opened across the nation, he added. Each silo is of 60,000 tons capacity and costs 2.5 billion pounds, he said, adding that these new advanced silos aim at decreasing grains waste that amounts to 10 per cent annually. These new silos were included in this year's wheat season, Ismail said. The projects include a number of bridges and the development of Aswan railway station. |
