Trade and Industry Minister Tareq Qabil said a high-level government delegation from Belarus will visit Egypt soon to discuss available investment opportunities within the framework of the Russian Industrial Zone in East Port Said and the 1.5 Million Feddan Project.
The Belarusian deputy agriculture minister will lead the delegation. The Trade Ministry said in a statement on Thursday that Qabil agreed with the Belarusian side on determining a number of joint projects to be implemented in Egypt in the coming few months. During a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Vladimir Semashko on the sidelines of meetings of the Egyptian-Belarusian trade committee in Minsk city, the minister reviewed economic reform measures taken by the government that helped Egypt to restore its place on the map of the global economy as one of the most attractive countries to invest in the Middle East and Africa. He invited the Belarusian government to encourage investors to do business in Egypt and to contribute to major national projects that are currently being carried out in Egypt. The committee's meetings were attended by Egyptian Transport Minister Hisham Erafat and Belarusian Trade Minister Vladimir Koltovich. They focused on promoting economic cooperation between Egypt and Belarus. |
