 Minister of Trade and Industry Eng. Tarek Qabil said that the depth of historical, and Geographical relations between Egypt and African states represents a key factor in developing commercial and economic relations with African states.
He added that the African market represents one of the main priorities of the strategy to enhance the Egyptian exports. He said President Sisi's visit to Tanzania, Rwanda, Chad and Gabon represents an important step towards enhancing economic relations. He said the volume of trade between Egypt and these countries amounted last year to $ 73 million including Egyptian exports worth $ 69 million and imports worth $ 4 million. Meantime, Dr Sherif El Gabaly, the Chairman of the African cooperation committee at the Federation of Egyptian industries said the visit by President Sisi to four African nations will contribute to increasing Egyptian exports as political action is important t fore economy. He said the volume of Egyptian exports to African states amounts to $ 4 billion adding Egypt is seeking to double this figure. |
