Egyptian Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr said that a large number of US businessmen lauded the economic reform process in Egypt.
The US investors asserted that they felt how far measures for starting a business in Egypt became easier after the new investment law was issued, she pointed out in press statements. Nasr pointed out that she participated during her current visit here in meetings with US investors. Several of these investors are willing to start business and others expressed desire to increase their investments in Egypt, said the Egyptian minister. These investors are operating in Egypt in the domains of food industries, pharmaceuticals, oil, agriculture, tourism, banking and construction, she added. Nasr is now on a visit here as part of the delegation accompanying President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to meetings of the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly. Nasr said that the Egyptian market is a launching pad for African partnership where commodities that are produced in Egypt could be exported to other African countries. Investment revenue in Egypt is high compared to other countries, she pointed out, adding that energy prices in Egypt is much cheaper than in other countries. A delegation of US investors will visit Egypt shortly to discuss means of setting up new investment projects, she said, pointing out that this visit will drive home a message to the whole world that the US is interested in doing business in Egypt. An investment map will be outlined to explain areas for business in Egypt such as Upper Egypt, the new administrative capital and new cities, she added. |
