Egypt has achieved progress and has become a prominent country in the field of digital innovation after jumping 12 global rungs during the current year, Chief Executive Officer of Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) Asmaa Hosny said .
ITIDA was ranked the first according to global statistics in the field of Out Sourcing Technology, Hosny noted. Addressing the Techne Summit 2017 conference, Hosny said that the ITIDA's strategy aims to develop human cadres working in IT field and to qualify students and graduates of Egyptian universities to join labor market. As well, the strategy designed to increase exports of IT services in addition to meeting local demand through programs aims to spread IT services in various economic sectors and further demands for them, Hosny pointed out. Hosny underlined that the ITIDA has signed an agreement of cooperation with the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) to help IT companies registered in the ITIDA database to get needed funds from banks in a step to encourage investment in this vital sector. Priority in getting funds from banks will be given to new companies as well as small and medium sized enterprises related to the field, Hosny stated. When entrepreneurs succeed in establishing their companies, that would definitely result in developing more industries needed by the labor market especially in rural areas and upper Egypt, she added. |
