The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) announced granting a USD 87 million loan to establish and operate two solar plants in Egypt.
The loan was given to Infinity Solar, an Egyptian renewable energy company, and IB Vogt, a global solar company that was established in Germany. The two solar plants of 80 megawatt capacity will be located in Benban solar park in Aswan that is expected to be the world's largest solar energy complex with a total capacity of 1.8 gigawatts. The loan is a part of a USD 500 million EBRD projects to support Egypt's renewable energy. |
