 Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr held a meeting via video conference with the Washington-based World Bank Group on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of launching the World Bank Group's Doing Business report.
The WB Group, in its report titled "Reforming to Create Jobs", pointed out that Egypt carried out 29 reforms until the end of May, occupying the 66th position globally in the field of issuing building permits. Egypt also made seven reforms in the field of business start-ups in the past few years, the report read. Furthermore, the report praised efforts exerted by the Egyptian government to improve the business climate and protect minority investors in Egypt. Nasr said the report evaluated the performance of the Egyptian economy till the end of May, ignoring the new investment law and its executive regulation, which have been recently issued. |
