Marked the end of the 78th round of the World Customs Organization Policy Commission’s (WCO PC) conference held at Luxor.
The WCO Secretary General Dr. Kunio Mikuriya expressed his great satisfaction with the perfect organization of the conference under the supervision of Head of the Egyptian Customs Authority, Dr. Magdy Abd Al-Aziz, and the auspices of Finance Minister, Mr. Amr Al-Garhy, and Vice Minister of Tax Policies, Mr. Amr Almonayer. Dr. Mikuriya also thanked all the Egyptian people, the State President and all officials of the Egyptian Customs Authority for their distinguished hospitality to all the WCO members and for their sincere efforts in organizing all the conference sessions. He delightfully noted that this was one of the best sessions ever in the WCO history and he would consider the possibility of holding the WCO's winter sessions in Egypt to enjoy the warm and cozy weather. On behalf of all the WCO members, Dr. Mikuriya sent his special thanks to Dr. Magdy Abd Al-Aziz, and stressed Egypt's significant role in the WCO and worldwide. On their part, all participating delegates paid tribute to the conference's organizers and to their great hospitality. They also added that they were truly overwhelmed with the awesomeness of Egyptian monuments and the Pharaonic civilization, noting that they would indeed act as peace ambassadors for Egypt in their respective countries. Head of the Egyptian Customs Authority, Dr. Magdy Abd Al Aziz, thanked Dr. Mikuriya and all the participating delegates and expressed his deep honor for having them acting as ambassadors for Egypt. Dr. Magdy Abd Al Aziz also thanked Finance Minister Mr. Amr Al-Garhy, Vice Minister for Tax Policies, Mr. Almonayer, Luxor Governor, Mr. Mohamed Badr and officials of the Minister of Interior for their efforts and support in organizing the conference in this successful way. On the same context, Head of the Spanish Customs Authority expressed her content with the conference organization at all levels, pointing out that Egypt showed great audacity and resilience in clamping down at terrorism as well as in managing to organize the Luxor conference amid these volatile events, unlike European countries which failed to hold conferences amid the current political unrest. |
