“His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has approved a AED 56.6 billion budget for Dubai’s public sector for 2018, with infrastructure allocation increased to make up 21% of total government expenditure.
This demonstrates the directives of His Highness to raise the efficiency of the Emirate’s infrastructure and make it the preferred place to live, work, and visit, and his vision to host the best World Expo in Dubai in 2020,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD&CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA). “At DEWA, we will continue our ambitious development plans in adherence with the Dubai Plan 2021 to promote Dubai’s position as a smart, integrated, and connected city. We will also continue to support the social, economic, and environmental development of the Emirate. DEWA will also continue to adopt the latest world-class technologies and practices to support the vision of the wise leadership to make Dubai the smartest and happiest city in the world.” |
