Minister of Trade and Industry Tareq Qabil discussed with Argentine Foreign Minister Jorge Faurie the importance of economic cooperation, especially after Egypt officially joined Mercosur which is an economic and political bloc comprising Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay, and Venezuela.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Trade and Industry said Qabil, whose statements came on the sidelines of the ministerial conference of the World Trade Organization in Buenos Aires, described relations between the two countries as distinguished, calling for expanding economic cooperation. He said the coming stage would witness full coordination among the officials of the two countries to increase investments and trade between them. For his part, the Argentine minister expressed his country's keenness on promoting political and economic ties with Egypt as one of the most important countries in the Middle East and Africa. He said that Egypt's joining Mercosur bloc would help the inflow of trade among member states. |
