Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said Egypt is ready to provide expertise in the field of training to Ghanaian cadres through the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development.
Shoukry was speaking during a meeting with Ghanaian Foreign Minister Shirley Botchway on the sidelines of preparations for the 30th African Summit in Addis Ababa. The meeting tackled the bilateral relations, regional issues and coordination at the African Union level, the Foreign Ministry's spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid stated, adding Shoukry stressed the importance of promoting the ties in all domains. The foreign minister said Egypt seeks to hold a third round of the joint committee between the two countries, Abu Zeid added. Botchway, for his part, said her country eyes more Egyptian investments in Ghana. The top diplomats also mulled the possibility of holding a business forum in order to encourage the private sector in the two countries to invest in Egypt and Ghana. At the meeting, Shoukry reviewed Egypt's efforts in countering terrorism and supporting the Palestinian cause, pointing to the necessity of the supportive stance of the African countries in this regard. |
