 The production of double-decker buses is an added-value for the national industry; the local component reaching 65%.
Minister of Trade and Industry Tarek Kabil attended the delivery of the first batch of double-decker buses to the Public Transportation Authority (PTA), which will operate in densely-populated Cairo’s streets. The first set include 10 out of total 40 vehicles. Air-conditioned and locally-manufactured, the new buses are produced by Kastour, the exclusive agent of German commercial vehicle manufacturer MAN in Egypt and one of the Egyptian companies featuring the "Made in Egypt with Honor" logo, launched in 2016 by the minister. “Egypt boasts considerable experience in the field of automotive manufacturing and the production of double-decker buses will create added value to the national industry,” Kabil noted. He pointed out that all the stages of the double-decker manufacturing are carried out in Egypt with the local component reaching 65%. “The company produces all types of modern transport, including tourist, public and double-decker buses,” Chairman Mamdouh Kastour said. |
