 Minister of Trade and Industry Tareq Qabil asserted that there is much coordination between the officials in Egypt and Britain to boost trade and economic cooperation during the coming stage especially in light of the strategic partnership between both countries' governments and business circles.
This came during Qabil's meeting with British Trade Envoy to Egypt Jeffrey Donaldson. The meeting took up the future of economic and commercial ties between Egypt and Britain especially after Brexit. British Ambassador to Egypt John Casson attended the meeting. Qabil said that Egypt is keen on furthering trade ties with Britain. He reiterated the importance of boosting the strategic partnership between both countries to be positively reflected on deepening trade ties. He pointed out that Egypt and Britain are working on providing a suitable climate for increasing joint investments. The government is working on easing all the difficulties facing the British companies working in Egypt in order to promote investments, he said. The economic reform plan adopted by the Egyptian government has brought Egypt back to the international investment map, he stressed. Egypt is working with the British government and the EU to guarantee the strength of economic ties with all parties, said Qabil. Donaldson, who heads a visiting British delegation that comprises 15 major British companies, said that Britain seeks to boost cooperation with Egypt in all domains. He underscored the important role played by the business communities in both countries in developing trade and investment ties. |
