Ibrahim Al Mahmoud, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has discussed, during his meeting with Juan Luiz Manzur, Governor of Tucuman Province in Argentina, and the accompanying delegation the economic cooperation between Abu Dhabi and Tucuman Province.
The meeting, which was held at the Chamber’s headquarters, was attended by His Excellency Mohamed Helal Al Muhairi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, and Mr. Abdullah Ghurair Al Qubaisi, Deputy Director General of the Chamber. H.E. Al Mahmoud expressed high hopes that the visit will promote relations between companies from Abu Dhabi and Tucuman Province while highlighting the importance of introducing investment opportunities in Tucuman to local businessmen and investors and providing relevant facilitations. He added that Abu Dhabi is working on diversifying its income and developing its non-oil export in order to balance its trade scale. “Abu Dhabi supports many pivotal sectors including the mining industry, financial and telecommunication services, aviation, space industries, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, tourism, education, healthcare, transportation, trade and logistics. The Deputy Chairman also hoped that the visit will help strengthen the economic and trade relations between Abu Dhabi and Argentina, as well as increase their level of trade while pointing out that the level of non-oil foreign trade between the two countries totaled AED700 million in 2016. He called on Argentinian companies from Tucuman to participate in SIAL 2018 and stressed that the exhibition will provide an important platform for Argentinian food and agricultural companies to showcase their products and cooperate with their Emirati counterparts. For his part, H.E. Al-Muhairi showcased a detailed presentation on the role of the Chamber in supporting the private sector, expressing the readiness of the Chamber to provide all kinds of support for the Argentinian companies desirous of investing in Abu Dhabi since the Chamber is in possession of all the information and studies related to key projects in the emirates. Juan Luiz Manzur, Governor of Tucuman Province in Argentina, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Abu Dhabi Chamber for the great reception, emphasizing on the importance of this meeting between Abu Dhabi and Tucuman Province. Manzur stated that Tucuman is a key province in Argentina, as it is known for its production of wheat, grains, meat, sugar and other food products. He also invited the Chamber to visit Tucuman and meet with Argentinian companies and institutions, to discuss opportunities for commercial and investment cooperation, and hoped that the meeting will establish prosperous commercial and investment partnerships and cooperation. |
