A Jordanian commercial and industrial delegation will embark on visit to South Africa in March to look into prospects of fostering economic engagement between both countries.
Commenting on the visit, Chairmen of the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) Issa Murad and Amman Chamber of Industry (ACI) Ziad Homsi, said the team will explore trade and investment horizons and open up export markets to made-in-Jordan products, which have challenges triggered by unstable Mideast conditions. The mission to South Africa, slated for March 3rd, will be led by Minister of Industry Trade and Supply, Yarub Qudah, and included representatives of the ACI and ACC, academicians and representatives of construction, engineering,electrical industries sectors among others. While in the African nation, the delegation will attend two main events in Johannesburg and the coastal city of Cape Town, besides official meetings Qudah will hold with senior officials there. Murad and Homsi stated that Jordan was keen on benefiting from South African resources, especially in the fields of metals, science, technology, tourism and mining. South African Ambassador here John Davies said the embassy will contact relevant bodies to help make the visit successful, expressing his country's interest to forge closer trade relations with Jordan and build bridges of cooperation between economic actors of both countries. |
