Electricity Minister Mohamed Shaker met with a delegation of Malaysian investors to probe business opportunities in the renewable energy sector.
Shaker posted officials from Tenaga Nasional Berhad and Khazanah Nasional Berhad on challenges that faced the electricity sector in Egypt in the past period. He also reviewed his strategy that aims to increase the use of renewable energy to 42 percent by 2035. The Electricity Ministry is working to upgrade power services, production and distribution, Shaker said. He touched upon what he called "important steps" taken by the Ministry toward reforming the legislative infrastructure of the power sector in a way that would lure investments in electricity projects. |
