Prime Minister Hani al-Mulki, , met with Brazilian Foreign Minister Aloysio Nunes Ferreira and discussed with him bilateral ties and ways to further boost them in various domains, as well as, the latest developments in the Middle East region.
Al-Mulki also discussed with the Brazilian top diplomat the possibility of importing Jordan's phosphate, potash and fertilizers and enhancing cooperation between Amman and Brasilia in tourism sector. The 28th Arab summit which was hosted by the Kingdom last year and chaired by His Majesty, al-Mulki said, focused on three key issues including the Palestinian cause, fighting terrorism and promoting the Arab League's work. On Syria, al-Mulki said that Jordan has reached its maximum capacity due to the Syrian refugee crisis, which contributed to the increase of economic burdens in light of the absence of an adequate support from the international community. The Brazilian top diplomat voiced his country's appreciation of Jordan's role in bringing about peace and stability in the region and providing services to the Syrian refugees. The meeting was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, State Minister for Media Affairs, and Government Spokesperson Mohammad Momani and the Brazilian ambassador to Jordan. |
