The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with ThinkSmart for Development and Training W.L.L for eCommerce Training Program Courses in the Kingdom Bahrain.
The two sides shall cooperate in provision of specialized eCommerce training courses for commercial establishments, in line with the Ministry's vision to build a productive economy, capable of competing globally by upgrading the Private sector, individuals and institutions and enabling them to play their national role in development. In compliance with the MoU, the two sides shall cooperate in supporting business owners, businessmen and all beneficiaries who are interested in the field of eCommerce and its applications by providing training courses that shall enable them to develop their business performance and lead them toward digital transformation. These training courses shall help businesses reach larger segments of customers and reduce costs, thereby enhance their competitiveness in the national and global markets. The MoU was signed by Mr. Abdulaziz Mohammed Al Ashraf, Assistant Undersecretary of Resources and Services, and by Mr. Ahmed Al Hujairy, CEO of ThinkSmart, in the Ministry's headquarters in the Financial Harbor . During the agreement signing, Mr. Abdulaziz Al Ashraf said, “These training courses in the field of eCommerce shall open new horizons for establishments in the sectors of industry, trade, tourism and others, as well as encouraging investment in the field of eCommerce. This initiative will lead to enable entrepreneurs and small and medium enterprises with the new innovative business models. Focusing on training courses in the field of eCommerce is a unique initiative to create an environment conducive to encourage business entrepreneurship and overcome all the challenges that it faces in global competition. This will eventually contribute to enhance the infrastructure needed by advanced applications”, he added. For his part, Mr. Ahmed Al Hujairy explained that the training courses shall be implemented in different stages, and will cover the basic concepts of eCommerce, followed by application of eCommerce tools and marketing businesses through electronic channels and lastly, how to manage and protect websites from vulnerability, theft and other important technical matters in this area. He added that the participants in these training courses shall receive an approved certificate, and these hands-on trainings will enable them to practice their work electronically in order to enhance consumer confidence.
