Minister of Economy and Trade, Raed Khoury, met with UN Acting Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Pernille Dahler Kardel, and discussed with her the economic implications of CEDRE Conference, which will be held in Paris on 6 April, 2018.
Khoury explained to Kardel the details of the "macro-economic plan" which is being drafted in cooperation with "McKinsey". "This plan will promote Lebanon's productive sectors which boast worthy human and economic capacities," Khoury said. For her part, Kardel lauded "the brilliant Lebanese creativity spread around the world," suggesting that Lebanon makes use of this. When asked about the guarantee that the next government will be required to work on vis-a-vis reforms and proposals of CEDRE Conference, Khoury responded to this question stressing that "President Aoun is the best guarantee to secure transparency in compliance with all the reforms that would serve Lebanon." Kardel also hailed "the important role played by Minister Khoury at this delicate stage, by spreading economic awareness, especially regarding the situation in Lebanon and the region." |
