The Federation of Arab Businessmen (FAB) signed a cooperation agreement with the World Green Economy Council (WGECO) on the sidelines of the 16th Arab Businessmen Forum recently held at King Hussein Bin Talal Palace in the Dead Sea area.
The agreement aims to support opportunities of cooperation between the two parties to benefit from their expertise to boost engagement to promote "green" economy and investment. Under the accord, the WGECO functions as a think tank and a house of expertise in the green economy and a relevant arm of the FAB, as the federation establishes a branch of the council in Jordan. The agreement, signed by the FAB's President, Hamdi Tabba'a, and the WGECO's Chairman, Mohammed Jamal Al-Kafafi, spurs the two sides to cooperate on issues of mutual concern. To achieve this bid, the two sides will also seek to promote close cooperation in the fields of "green" investment, education, projects, training, research and development to transform the Arab economy, which relies mainly on oil to become "green" for a better future. The Amman-based FAB, established in 1997, as an independent, non-profit, Arab non-governmental organization, brings under its umbrella associations and unions of businessmen in the Arab world. The Egypt-based WGECO is an international non-profit organization that aims to promote "green" investment, raise awareness and knowledge of the "green" economy, increase efficiency of resources use and preserve the right of future generations to a decent life around the world. |
