Talks are underway for the establishment of a Visegrád industrial area in Egypt.
Suez- A delegation from the Visegrád Group (V4)- a cultural and political alliance of the four Central European nations Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia- visited the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) accompanied by representatives from the ministries of Investment and International Cooperation (MIIC) and Foreign Affairs (MFA), the Industrial Development Authority (IDA) and the Egyptian Commercial Service (ECS). The visit was organised by the Ministry of Trade and Industry’s Trade Agreements Sector and led by Dalia Salem, assistant to the minister for foreign cooperation affairs. It aimed to explore the investment opportunities available there. “A working group has been formed from the IDA, MIIC, SCZone, MFA and chaired by the Trade Agreements Sector to be a focal point in talks over the future establishment of a V4 industrial area in Egypt,” Salem said. The tour also included visiting the China-Egypt Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone (TEDA) and Suez Industrial Development Company (SIDC). |
