 The decision would boost the competitiveness of Egyptian exports in the Canadian market.
Minister of Trade and Industry Tarek Kabil announced that the Canadian government has removed the ban on direct EgyptAir cargo flights to Canada after a two-year hiatus, following efforts by the Egyptian commercial office in Montreal in coordination with Egypt’s Civil Aviation ministry. “The decision would boost the competitiveness of Egyptian exports in the Canadian market, particularly agricultural crops; cutting time and cost of transit cargo flights, which has been the main obstacle facing Egyptian exporters of perishable goods,” Kabil said. In this regard, Head of the Egyptian Commercial Service (ECS) Ahmad Antar pointed out that the commercial office in Montreal has been working closely with the Agricultural Export Council in Egypt to prepare for the participation in the Canadian Produce Marketing Association (CPMA)’s annual trade show held on Apr 24-26. The exhibition, he added, is a unique forum bringing together over 3000 participants from all segments of the produce supply chain and showcasing food products from around the world. |
