Minister of Trade and Industry Tareq Qabil said that the Egyptian exports to the Cypriot market increased by 81.5% in 2017, reaching 33 million euros compared to 18.2 million euros in 2016.
The volume of commodities' trade exchange between both countries reached 45 million euros in 2017 including 33 million euros in exports and 12 million euros in imports, Qabil said in a statement of the Trade Ministry on 30/4/2018. Egyptian exports to the Cypriot market include iron and steel products, furniture, food industries, fish, plastic products, cables and vegetables and fruits, Qabil said. On trade between Egypt and Greece, Qabil said that the volume increased by 10% in 2017, compared to 2016. Egyptian exports to the Greek markets increased by 22.7%, recording 180.5 million euros in 2017 compared to 147.7 million euros in 2016, said Qabil. Egyptian exports to Greece include cement, potatoes, rolled steel, textiles, olives and frozen vegetables, he said, adding that Greece exports to Egypt fruits, wheat, plastic, oils, silverware and pumps. The total Greek investments in Egypt amount to 155 million dollars in 160 projects in the fields of industry, services, construction, tourism, communications, information technology, funding and agriculture, Qabil said. The Egyptian, Greek and Cypriot relations set a successful example for partnership between the three countries, he said. Trade ties between Egypt, Cyprus and Greece witnessed development during the past period, he added. |
