President Armen Sarkissian of Armenia has praised the progress attained by the UAE, particularly in economic and cultural fields. He said his country was looking forward to enhancing relations with the UAE in various domains.
This came during a meeting he had today with Dr. Jassem Mohammed Al Qasimi, UAE Ambassador to Yerevan, who congratulated him on his election as President of Armenia. The UAE Ambassador conveyed to President Sarkissian greetings of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. President Sarkissian reciprocated the greetings, saying the UAE is Armenia's top trading partner in the Arab world. Trade between the two countries jumped from US$119.3 million in 2016 to US$202.7 million in 2017, while flydubai and Air Arabia increased their combined flights to Armenia to 18 every week, compared to only 6 in 2016. |
