Egypt has the lion's share of European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) investments in the southern and eastern Mediterranean region, said the regional director of the bank .
Janet Heckman was addressing a briefing after the EBRD Meeting and Business Forum in the Dead Sea, Jordan. Among the EBRD projects in Egypt is the largest solar plant in Africa, Heckman said, estimating the total investments in the region at around 7 billion euros. Of the total EBRD investments in the world in 2017, Egypt had the second largest volume, following Ukraine, she also noted. |
