The UAE chaired the 45th meeting of the implementation and follow-up committee of the pan-Arab Greater Arab Free Trade Area, GAFTA, held at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo with the participation of representatives of ministries of economy in the Arab countries.
During the three-day meeting chaired by Mohammad Saleh Shalawah, Adviser to the UAE's Minister of Economy, a number of important topics are being discussed, including the follow-up of the Greater Arab Free Trade Area, the implementation of the transparency principles in the region, and setting up a mechanism for the commitment of Arab countries to the Economic and Social Council resolutions related to the completion of the GAFTA. The meeting will also discuss other important issues on the agenda. |
