 All production units of the first phase of the leather city in Robiki, Badr City, have been completely allocated, Minister of Trade and Industry Tareq Qabil said.
Over 40 factories have already started operation, occupying 50 percent of the first phase’s total area of 173,000 square meters, Qabil said during his inspection tour of the leather city in Robiki. Another 12 factories are still on trial as they are planned to start real production in June, the minister said. The operative factories are expected to rise to 70 by the end of 2018, he added. The work progress in the city is going on as scheduled, Qabil said, adding that land plots for the second phase would be offered soon for expansion projects. The minister said that an agreement has been reached with a leading foreign machinery company to establish a maintenance center to serve the existing factories. |
