Agriculture Minister Ezzel Din Abu Steet discussed with Dutch Ambassador in Cairo Laurens Westhoff means of intensifying agricultural cooperation between the two countries.
At a meeting held at the Agriculture Ministry headquarters here, the agriculture minister asserted that a large number of cooperation domains between both countries are available in the agriculture field and other sectors affiliated to it. Abu Steet voiced Cairo’s keenness on boosting such cooperation to benefit from the Dutch expertise. Joint cooperation between both countries should include the field of generating power from wind, as a renewable energy source, he said, adding that it could be used in land reclamation projects, mainly the project of cultivating 20,000 feddans in western Minya. He cited exchanging technical expertise in agricultural scientific research as one of the major cooperation domains that should be included. Both sides agreed to form a joint coordinating committee assigned to outline major domains of cooperation and a plan of action. |
