The total deposits in banking system, excluding the CBE, increased by LE 41 billion to hit LE 3.525 trillion by the end of April, up from 3.484 trillion in March, the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) said .
In a statement, the bank added that governmental deposits hit about LE 545.6 billion, including LE 431.4 billion in local currency and LE 114.2 billion in foreign currencies, while non-governmental deposits reached LE 2.979 trillion in the same period against LE 2.945 trillion in the previous month. The value of nongovernmental deposits in foreign currency reached LE 705 billion, according to the report. |
