In a speech he delivered at the beginning of the meeting, Al Khajah emphasized that despite the latest developments over the past few years, but economic relations between the UAE and the Czech Republic has still not reached the desired level and do not meet their potentials considering their huge capabilities and the existence of promising sectors that open the door wide open for far more economic cooperation between the two countries. “The volume of non-oil trade exchange between the UAE and the Czech Republic reached 4 billion Dirhams in 2017, whereas, the volume of non-oil trade exchange between the two countries was at just 405.2 million Dirhams in 2016,” he said Al Khajah added that the UAE, thanks to the futuristic vision of the wise leadership, and thanks to its key strategic position, can form a launching pad for Czech companies which have the desire to enter the markets of the region, the Middle East, South East Asia and the African continent. Today, Abu Dhabi races time to develop its economy, and that what is being witnessed in the plans of the government of Abu Dhabi. “The UAE races time with fast-paced steps towards economic development, the development of non-oil sectors, and speeding up the comprehensive development process in the different trade and investment sectors,” Al Khajah remarked. “We, at the Abu Dhabi Chamber, invite the Czech Chamber of Commerce to take a closer look at the available investment opportunities in Abu Dhabi and on how to increase cooperation in key sectors, especially that Abu Dhabi can be a base for Czech companies desirous of entering the markets of the region, the Middle East, South East Asia and the African continent, considering its strategic geographical position and the logistics features it offers for investors.” The Board Member also emphasized that organizing such high-level economic meetings would contribute to building bridges between business communities in each of the two countries and allow to identify the investment environment of the UAE in general and Abu Dhabi in particular. For his part, Mr. Redek Spicer, Vice-President of the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic, expressed his honor to visit Abu Dhabi along with hisaccompanying delegation who represent a number of the biggest companies in the Czech Republic, pointing out that they hope for economic and investment cooperation between the two countries to reach the highest levels. He added that through their visit they are looking forward to developing trade and exchange knowledge in a way that is beneficial to both countries.
