Investment and International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr returned home after taking part in Africa Investment Forum (AIF) held in the South African city of Johannesburg.
The AIF witnessed the participation of representatives of 54 African countries besides the presidents of South Africa, Ghana, Ethiopia and Guinea. The Nigerian vice president and the premiers of Cameroon and Rwanda attended the forum as well. During her speech at the AIF, Nasr said that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi prioritizes enhancing investment and economic ties with Africa. Total Egyptian investments in the continent reached $10.2 billion, while African investments in Egypt hit $2.8 billion, she added. The minister pointed out to Africa 2018 Forum, to be held on December 8-9 under the sponsorship of President Sisi, adding that it will be organized this year in light of Egypt's presidency to the African Union (AU) in 2019. The event will be a platform for helping in formulating priorities of the private sector for next year, she reiterated. |
