 President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed Egypt's keenness on boosting aspects of cooperation with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).
The president made the remarks during a meeting with AIIB President Jin Liqun in the presence of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry. During the meeting, President Sisi praised aspects of cooperation with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said. He also thanked the bank for funding mega projects in Egypt in the field of solar energy. Jin, meanwhile, praised the economic reform program adopted by Egypt, which contributed to boosting the national economy and raising growth rates. He added that the bank is proud of having such deeply-rooted relations with the Egyptian financial institutions. The meeting also tackled means of boosting cooperation between African countries and the bank during Egypt's presidency of the African Union next year. |
